Foodie Friday: Epcot Refreshment Port Croissant doughnut

I had to see what all the fuss was about at Epcot's Refreshment Port. I kept hearing of this amazing doughnut croissant thing. It has been named the Cronut, or croissant doughnut.

While at the Flower and Garden Festival I had the chance to finally get this thing and try it our for myself. I got up to the line and ordered what I thought was just a sugar doughnut. I got a ginourmous sugar topped item on the outside, so I had to take the top off. I was amazed to see lots of doughy layers inside, just like a croissant has. It was warm, and the top was super crunchy, but the inside was fresh and doughy, like a donut, yet, like a croissant. The cronut tasted AMAZING! It was well worth the 4.49 they charge for this big boy. We shared it!!
Have you tried the Cronut? What was your opinion?

  1. I've heard so much about the cronut but this is the first time I've seen a photo of it. It's funny, I'm not sure what I thought it would look like, but I guess I wasn't expecting a "regular" looking donut. I hope they'll still have it in a month so I can give it a try.

  2. I had one of these on my last trip in January. I wish I could've had more than one!! They were delicious and I hope they are still there on my next trip!
