Who's Who Wednesday: Pluto

Pluto was born September 5, 1930 and soon became the pet of Mickey Mouse. He first appeared as a blood hound in The Chain Gang. In Mr and Mrs. Pluto, Fifi the Pekingese and Pluto have 5 mischievous mutts. He is also seen as a daddy dog in several other cartoons and shorts. In 1941, his movie, Land a Paw won him an Oscar for Best Cartoon. Pluto has appeared on television in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey Mouse Works, House of Mouse and The Mickey Mouse Club. He has also been by Mickey's side in film. Major movies include Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, and Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers. Pluto was first voiced by Pinto Colvig for 30 years, then Lee Miller. He has been voiced by Bill Elmer since 1990. Pluto is the only member of the Fab 5 (Goofy, Pluto, Mickey, Minnie and Donald) that walks on all fours. In the parks we see Pluto quite frequently. He appears in parades, meet and greets and in several stage shows. We even catch a glimpse of him on the boat with Steamboat Willie during the finale' of Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Pluto is the loving companion of Mickey Mouse.
